Brewing with monks; Tynt Meadow English Trappist Ale
In the summer of 2022 I travelled to Mount Saint Bernard Abbey in Leicestershire, England. The Abbey is home to the UK's only Trappist brewery, and I was there to photograph the monks and the brewery for a feature in Good Beer Hunting. On the day I arrived, the bottling line was in full swing as the latest batch of Tynt Meadow Trappist Ale was packaged. I was also there to photograph the Abbey itself, and the beautiful grounds that surround it.
I spent the morning in the brewhouse with Father Mateusz, brewery manager Peter Grady, Brother David, and writer Mark Dredge. We then toured the abbey grounds with Father Martin, who kindly showed us his pottery studio and the private living quarters.
All photos were taken on the grounds of the abbey, with the exception of the bottle product shots, which were taken at home. Some of the photos included here were not used in the final story, but I've included them here for further reference.
